7500-FD100Z80S 100mm Flap Disc 80 Grit Zirconia (Zirconium Oxide) Flap discs are available in a wide range of sizes and grits and are used for applications including weld seam removal, surface blending, edge grinding and weld preparation on ferrous and non-ferrous metals. Their main advantage over other types of abrasives in that they grind and finish in one operation, thereby, reducing both finishing time and finishing costs. Flap discs produce very little vibration and noise during use. Zirconia is significantly tougher than aluminium oxide abrasives which makes zirconia well suited to high pressure machining and grinding applications. Zirconia has a good heat resistance and is commonly used in general steel fabrication for the grinding and finishing of steel, and stainless steel.
