Luke is an estimator with Edcon Steel, which involves assessing customer drawings and plans and working out costings for our customers.

From apprentice to estimator

“I started as an apprentice fabricator with Edcon in 2000. I finished my apprenticeship in 2005, and the following year, while working as a fabricator, I started doing some estimating. This was my first job out of school. Edcon gave me the chance to learn – and the chance to focus on an area that I really enjoyed.”

A flexible workplace

“One of the great things about working at Edcon Steel is the chance to work from home. I live in Coffs Harbour and work remotely.

Clients always email in the jobs, plans and drawings, so it doesn’t matter where you are. We have a link system so our team can be talking and looking at the same things while we’re in different places.”
