With adjustable size control an adjustable hand reamer is designed as a general purpose reamer that can cover a small range of sizes and produce a clean, accurate hole.
Because there is no spiral in the flutes, hole size is obtained by removing a small amount of material with each cut.
Progressive cuts of around 0.05mm per pass are required to avoid chatter.
Adjustable reamers are ideal for light usage in unbroken holes, in plastics and non-ferrous metals.
