3150-5.00 5 x 0.8mm HSSE-V3 TiAlN Coated Blue Band Spiral Point Tap HSSE-V3 HSSE with 3% Vanadium high performance tap. TiAlN (Titanium Aluminium Nitride) coating provides higher temperature resistance and improved surface hardness. Optimised for machining stainless steel Spiral point, straight flute with angular cutting faces at the lead. Primarily design for tapping through holes but can be used for blind holes provided there is ample clearance beyond the threaded section to accommodate the swarf. Designed to withstand the high stress and high heat associated with CNC production tapping. The machining of stainless steels is difficult due to its work hardening properties, toughness and poor thermal conductivity, which places high demands on the cutting tools. TiAlN coating increases tool surface hardness to 87Rc. For machining materials with Hardness < 350 HB : Tensile Strength <1250 N/mm2.
