Edcon Steel’s Series 500 self-drilling screws, also referred to as 5-series Tek screws, are high-performance fasteners designed to drill and tap through thick mild steel—up to 12 mm—without requiring pre-drilling. Featuring a hardened No. 5 drill point, fine thread profile, and flanged hex or countersunk heads, they deliver excellent pull-out strength and secure fastening, suited for structural assemblies, steel framing, HVAC, and fabrication applications. Available in versatile finishes—including Class 4 galvanised and stainless steel—these screws balance robustness and corrosion resistance, ideal for both indoor and harsh environments
